Platinum Bench is a property of destiny located on Okanagan's premier growing destination, the Black Sage Bench. The unique micro ecosystem of desert sands and a western slope aspect combine to achieve some of the highest growing heat degree days in the valley. Hot summer days ripen the grapes then gives way to cool evenings allowing the vines to balance and advance structure to the fruit. At Platinum Bench, the philosophy of the vineyard is a simple one:
To achieve a great wine, one must first approach the land and vines with meticulous care, cropping and respect.
Our wines are a reflection of this philosophy and the premier terroir of the Black Sage Bench. The Fruit is grown on our single estate vineyard then hand crafted into our elegant Platinum Bench wines.
Platinum Bench opened its doors June of 2012. Prior to opening, Proprietors Murray Jones and Fiona Duncan were visiting the Oliver Osoyoos area and fell in love with its beauty and its wines. Together with their Portuguese Water Dog, Wally, they created Platinum Bench Estate Winery. Recently they have expanded their offering from just wine to bread by making use of Fiona's Master baking skills. With the new offer came an addition to the name, Platinum Bench Estate Winery & Artisan Bread Co. To truly understand what we are all about you need to come in and meet us!
